Berlin, Germany--Lenné3D GmbH announced today the first release of its rich Internet client Marché3D that enables customers to search and explore plant species, and download and licence Flora3D tree models.
Lenné3D has developed one of the most extensive libraries of real-time 3D plant models intensively tested in research and landscape visualisation projects. Lenné3D’s awarded, interactive plant rendering technology provides high-performance, high-quality, real-time 3D visualisation of the plant kingdom. For high-quality rendition of 3D plants, Lenné3D combines the newest computer graphics technology with botanical precision. Flora3D models are botanically-certified, highly-detailed plant models, produced in a collaborative process by graphics designer, computer graphics scientists, and botanists.
In the newly opened Marché3D store, collections of street trees for North America, and Europe start off at favourable prices. The collections are offered on a subscription basis for only 99 Euros per year.
Licenced subscribers automatically benefit from free plant model updates and new species added to a collection during their subscribed period. Marché3D synchronises new and updated content to keep the user's 3D database up-to-date.
“Marché3D is a kind of mixture of iTunes™ and Napster™ music store for plant models. Instead of MP3s, you can download and explore trees in 3D to try before you buy,” says Philip Paar, managing director of Lenné3D GmbH. Flora3D models are protected by a digital rights management system using an established public-private key technology.
Licenced Flora3D models can currently be viewed in ESRI ArcGIS 9.2 using Lenné3D free Déjàvu3D Plug-in. For that purpose, Marché3D supports drag-and-drop of licenced Flora3D models to the ArcGIS Plug-in. Marché3D comes with a test drive collection of 3D trees to give it a free trial. Support for LandXplorer™ will soon be available.
