The realism of a virtual landscape scene is determined in particular by a realistic selection and distribution of plants.  Habitat and land-use data form the starting point from which with further geographical data, using our botanical knowledge, a plant distribution map is generated. Subsequently, the 3D plant models are assigned to the distribution map and positioned on the terrain model.
